Black Mirror Episodes, Ranked

Five seasons and 22 episodes in total, this British Sci-Fi/Drama TV Series changes the way we look at technology and the future of technology. This list is all 22 episodes ranked best to worst in my opinion. Note that this list does not include Bandersnatch.

Black Mirror: Netflix, Channel 4. Screencap from S1E3 "The Entire History of You"

22) Striking Vipers, S5E1. Uh uh. No way. This was the first episode I watched since I started recently, but this was NOT IT.

21) Men Against Fire, S3E5. This episode was about how soldiers are brainwashed to kill innocent people by making them seem inhuman. It made me beyond uncomfortable to watch, I felt that there were too many gorey scenes, and war movies/shows in general just don't fit my liking.

20) Metalhead, S4E5. Basically the only great part was the cinematography. The black and white color palette helped complement the unique and artful shots in the episode, but the story ran dull and boring.

19) Hated in the Nation, S1E1. This was so gross.

18) The Waldo Moment, S2E3. This episode went too broad, calling all politicians dummies (which isn't wrong), and the character Waldo eventually takes over the country with his ideals. It doesn't sit right.

17) The Entire History of You, S1E3. There were no 'good guys' in this episode. It had great potential, and I wish they aimed higher than just a cheating wife.

16) White Bear, S2E2. I usually really like "good guy was actually the bad guy", but this was sickening. This was her personal hell, and people used it as an amusement park or a zoo. This really tells the chilling story of how bystanders are still a part of the crime.

15) Shut Up and Dance, S3E3. I think I almost threw up when I found out the reason Kenny was being blackmailed. I think I would have put this higher up in the list if it showed Kenny as a truly horrible person. It felt like they wanted us to feel sorry for him, even at the end.

14) White Christmas, 2014 Special. This episode was a total mind-fk. The characters are equally horrible people, and the actors deliver that performance perfectly. But at the same time, it didn't really grab my attention the way that I was hoping for it to.

13) Arkangel, S4E2. Hyper sensitive parents in movies always ruin it for me. This episode properly shows the horrifying effects of spying on your kids. Don't fkin spy on your kids!! Otherwise they will smash an iPad on your head and then go missing.

12) Smithereens, S5E2. I quite liked this episode. I didn't like the ending. But I did like seeing Topher Grace again.

11) Rachel, Jack, and Ashley Too, S5E3. I don't know why people are hating on this episode so much. This episode was a bit too ambitious with the whole dream song situation, but I believe that its focus was on the corrupt music industry.

10) Hang The DJ, S4E4. I loved the message of rebellion in this episode. You'll never find the one unless you fight for it.

9) Black Museum, S4E6. Twisted, but in a good way. I loved the ending.

8) Be Right Back, S2E2. Emotional punch to the stomach, with a wonderful idea behind the episode.

7) Fifteen Million Merits, S1E2. This made me so drained watching, especially after hearing about Mia Khalifa and the porn industry. But I also wished that they would explore other aspects of that society other than singing.

6) Playtest, S3E2. Definitely the scariest episode in the series, and it completely messed with my head. Imagine having your worst fears mess with you. Also, the fact that the whole experiment was just 0.04 seconds long freaks me out.

5) Hated in the Nation, S3E6. Buddy cop movie! This was pretty fun to watch, with a lot of iconic one-liners from the cast.

4) Crocodile, S4E3. Damn. I have no words, but damn.

3) Nosedive, S3E1. Wonderful satirical piece on the culture of ratings and likes on social media. The ends tells us that as soon as you let go of all that, you can be properly happy and content with your life.

2) USS Callister, S4E1. Sometimes that weird guy in your office is actually a sociopath. Trust your gut.

1) San Junipero, S3E4. LESBIANS!!!!!
